Weakly Trivia

Yes – I know I spelled it weakly and not weekly. This is not going to be the strongest of connection411 features, but it could prove to be fun! First one to correctly respond will receive a piece of DOVE chocolate. . .

This week’s weakly question: This week our church had pictures taken for our new church pictorial directory. This tool will allow us to identify each other more easily, and stay connected as a church. What is the name of the company who is doing the directory for us, and what was the photographers first name?

This Weekend @ RFMC

Now there are two opportunities each weekend to worship with God’s people – Saturdays at iWorship 5:07pm and Sundays at 10:00am. The message at both services will be the same, while the format and worship music will differ slightly.

This weekend is Father’s Day! Bring Dad along and celebrate with us! We will have free gifts for each Dad present! A funny video “Duct Tape Father’s Day” will be shown, to also help bring a smile to Dad.

Pastor Bill will be speaking this week on “A Portrait of Fatherhood” based on 1 Thessalonians 2:7-13. This passage is not a usual Father’s Day text, but I believe speaks volumes about what it means to be a Father!

Pastor Greg and the Worship Team will lead us in worship together. During the service we will also have the opportunity to celebrate the Lord’s Table together.

Join us, and why not bring a friend to hear this wonderful message of grace!

Thank You!

This past Wednesday and Thursday, many of you had your pictures taken for the new church directory that will most likely arrive sometime in August. If you missed getting your picture taken for whatever reason, it is still possible to be included!!! You may call the church office and we will schedule for you an appointment at another church nearby that is also having a directory done, or two, you may submit your own photo which will be included at the end of the directory. My hope and prayer is that the directory will be so out of date by September, because of all the new people connected to Jesus!!! Wouldn’t that be incredible? Wow!

Save On Your Grocery Bill

These days we are all looking for ways to save a few dollars. We would like to share a ministry with you that can help you save on your monthly grocery bill. A few families at RFMC have tried it and have given the thumbs up. Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities through out the US. It has been in operation since 1994. Each month the menu varies and contains a variety of fresh and frozen items that fill a medium sized box. The retail value averages $60 but Angel Food only charges $30 per box. Generally a box will feed a family of 4 for a week or a senior citizen for a month. The food is all first quality, not second-hand, out-dated or dented! Angel Food is available to all persons, no questions and you can order as many boxes as you would like. Orders are taken monthly and you have to go to a designated host site to pick up your items on a specific day. There are 2 locations near RFMC that are host sites, Victory Christian Center in Lockport and New Life Baptist Church in NF. The next orders will be due the middle of June. For details you can visit them on line at www.angelfoodministries.com.

Summer Office Hours

Please note that the church will have shorter office hours for the summer. Starting July 1 and running until mid August, the office will only be open from 9am-1pm.

Fantastic Xtreme Teen Summer Events!

The Xtreme Teens will take a break from the weekly meetings for the summer but there are still plenty of fun things planned. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

June 14th—Teens

The last regular teen meeting will be this Sunday, here at church.

June 28—Bouldering at the Rocks

Teens will travel to Cattaraugus County for some rock climbing. Vans will leave the church parking lot at 1:30 and will return at 9pm. Bring money for a fast food dinner and gas (about $10-15)

Incoming 6th graders are rolled up into teens starting with this event. If you are a student entering 6th grade in September, we invite you to join us!

July 21—Darien Lake

All day event. Cost is dependant on the number of people going ($20-30). Permission slips due by 7/12.

August 28-30—Weekend in the Adirondacks

Enjoy the beautiful Adirondack Mts! We will camp and do some hiking. Cost will include campsite, food and travel. Stay tuned for details on this one.

Last Week’s Weakly Trivia

The question from last week:

On the Free Methodist Church website http://www.freemethodistchurch.org Bishop David Roller has a short video that talks about one of the distinctive of a healthy church. . . what is that distinctive?

Answer: That it makes strangers a priority, and not the people who currently attend the church.

The winner of the chocolate is Sue Clark.
